Journal of Humanitarian Studies Vol. 4, 2015AlumniThe SRCUC also stay in contact with its former students (alumni) through the Red Cross Society ofNursing, an association for nurses trained at the SRCUC. Its purpose is to essentially work for the cohesionof nurses trained at the SRCUC, but it also provides the opportunity to reach out to former students to heartheir opinions on various issues, and to keep them updated on latest news within the areas of educationand research. The association is also a forum for alumni to keep in touch and share experiences aftercompleting their studies.Educational objects and goalsFirst cycle programThe subjects within the education are divided between Nursing Sciences 105 credits, Medicine and NaturalSciences 45 credits, and Public Health Sciences 30 credits. The clinical practice comprise of 38 weeks(32%) divided in different part of the Health Care as basic nursing in elderly care, medical and surgicalnursing, psychiatric nursing, pediatric nursing, obstetric & gynecological nursing, emergency care,primary health care, elective module and somatic / geriatric nursing. Additionally to the clinical practicefield studies and training of practical moment at the SRCUC own clinical training center. Within the framefor the clinical practice the students carry out some weeks at special clinical education units together withinterdisciplinary students groups as medical students, physiotherapist students and occupational therapiststudents. The goal is to get opportunity to train teamwork. To strengthen the quality during the clinicalpractice clinical active nurses, adjunct clinical lecturers, employees in the Health care have been attachedto SRCUC.During first year of the education the student get basic knowledge about nursing theories and concepts,knowledge about the healthy human´s anatomy and physiology and Public Health. The second year consistsof depth studies in nursing and about different diseases and health conditions, symptoms, treatment andprevention.
