The Journal of Humanitarian Studies

Journal of Humanitarian Studies Vol. 4, 2015and Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital (QSMH).The clinical courses in the curriculum are the synthesizing courses that provide an arena for the applicationof what was learned in the theory courses. Theoretical and Clinical courses also include time in the nursingLearning Resource Center (LRC). Students are placed in hospitals, clinics, public health centers, and avariety of community agencies to practice what they have learned in the theory classes, and the nursingLRC.There are specialty nursing courses for post graduate diploma for registered nurses in specialty interestssuch as Critical care nursing, Geriatric nursing, Palliative nursing, Continuing Abdominal PeritonealDialysis nursing, and Nurse practitioner. The four months specialty training programs are approved thecurriculum by Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council.Focusing on nursing competencies achievement, as a nursing institution within The Red Cross and RedCrescent Movement, we have trained Red Cross nursing students to work under humanitarian values, theyhave competencies to be a leader in health care community, disaster preparedness, and disaster response tolocal and global vulnerability.TRCN annually offers several professional and community academic services, nursing research, andinnovation. Several community services have offers empowerment training integrated to body ofknowledge in vulnerability group i.e. Family, School, and Community Participation in School Based-Nutrition Health Promotion Project, Teenage Pregnancy prevention project, Disaster preparedness trainingprogram, Empowerment the village health volunteers to support the abused women, Elderly care forcaregiver, etc.International exchange activities, we offer various opportunities for international experience to staffs andstudents as research fellowship, visiting scholars, student exchange, and foreigners’buddy program. Wehave continued strengthening our international network with Red Cross College of Nursing and buildingrelationships with nursing education institutes worldwide in Sweden, Japan, Korea, United States, China,Singapore, etc.ValuesThese values guide our individual and collective decisions, and those decisions support the achievement ofthe learning outcomes.
