Journal of Humanitarian Studies Vol. 4, 2015teachers and administration board have agreed to change by taking high calories diet and heavy sugar drinkout, substitute with healthy school lunch, and support group exercise to let students join more in physicalactivities.In Fiscal Year of 2010, gaining more experience from the earlier year, the project team has further continuedthis program for 600 students in four BMA schools by adding YNHP camp, student-parents-teacher groupactivities, and NHP school project contest by student leaders. At the end of this year, the project will followup and evaluate with the health outcome in school children.2. The project of caring for the older people in Khlong toey slumThe project of caring for the older people in Khlong Toey Slum by the Thai Red Cross college of Nursinghas established since 1996. The providing services are health promotion, prevention, rehabilitation andprimary medical care for the older people in Khlong Toey slum. The project has been funded from the ThaiRed Cross Society and generous donators.Objectives; 1) To provide both physical and psychological heath care services to elderly residents inKholng Toey slum 2) To develop the home visiting and health care models 3) To develop collaborativenetworks between government and private agencies for health care of elderly living Khlong Toey slum and4) To be the Elders care training center for health professionals and others who are interested. The projectfocuses on the integration of health promotion, prevention, rehabilitation, integrated medical care, andcoordination with a proper referral. The services model in this project provides comprehensive one stopservice that include both physical health and social health including promotion, prevention, rehabilitation,medical care, especially the ease of access to primary medical care. In this project, we also have Family &community participation, and government & private agencies collaboration.In 2009, there were 690 clients which were 327 male and 363 female. The number of services fromrehabilitation therapy is 4,799. Moreover, the service location is also the training center and study resourcefor health professionals, TRCN nursing students in Bachelor’s degree and higher education, also otherswho are interested in providing elderly health care.In 2008, the project of caring for the older people in Khlong Toey slum, honored by the Ministry of SocialDevelopment and Human security, was selected as the outstanding organization that benefits to those indifficult conditions. The award was granted honorary award and pins from HRH Princess Soamsavali.Furthermore, the elderly health in community service models are exemplary to public health service inBKK both government and private organizations.3. The Networking of health promotion project to reduce the risk behavior of preterm labor inteenage pregnancyThe health promotion in teen pregnancy project was supported by International Health Security Office.During 2009-2010, The Thai Red Cross College of nursing and Kuakarun College of Nursing had executedthe project in cooperative with 4 hospitals in Bangkok Metropolitan; King Chulalongkorn Memorialhospital, Taksin hospital, Klang hospital, Charoenkrung hospital.The project aims were (1) to promote teenage pregnant women health with participatory learning toreduce health risk behaviors of preterm labor, (2) to prepare pregnant teen in breastfeeding and caring fortheir child in postpartum period, (3) to encourage teenage pregnancy participating in health teaching andcounseling how to change health risk behavior which can lead to preterm labor in order to become healthyand reduce the rate of preterm labor, and (4) to promote awareness in a mother‘s role and knowledge aboutfamily planning among pregnant teens. The project outcomes were; 1) Pregnant Teenagers ? full termlabor of 90.4 percent, 7.8 percent Labor between 34-36 weeks of gestational age, and 1.9 percent pretermlabor between 28-33 weeks of gestational age 2) Pregnant Teenagers had more knowledgeable about theprevention of sexually transmitted disease including effective family planning 91.0 percent 3) PregnantTeenagers had highly satisfied to participate in the project 90.7 percent 4) The health promotion model forteaching teenage pregnancy at the Antenatal care unit and/or parents schools had been developed.人道研究ジャーナルVol. 4, 201565
